Peace Day Celebration 2010

Hi Peacemakers!

It's been almost a year since the last celebration. We hope you had a peaceful year and we hope you're looking forward to celebrating again in 2010 as much as we are.

We apologize that we haven't been in touch. But the good news is that we have been working to put events together for 2010. There many exciting news we'd like to tell you about so please read on.

Last year, we asked folks to contribute to "1000 Acts of Peace". Comments from last year are still available at the blog: http://troypeace.blogspot.com/2009/05/1000-acts-of-peace.html#comments

This year's theme will be "How can I / We create PEACE?". Again, you can contribute at the blog: http://troypeace.blogspot.com/2010/08/how-can-i-we-create-peace.html

A forum page has also been added at TroyPeace.Org that you can sign into using your existing account at Yahoo, Google, Facebook, etc.: http://troypeace.org/share.php

Beginning September 1st, banners will be hung all over the city of Troy asking this question as well. You can find one and write your answer, add it to our blog, forum, Facebook wall, or reply to: calvin@troypeace.org.

PEACE DAY

Tuesday, September 21st- The United Nations International Day of Peace

The Art of Reiki, 251 River Street, Ste 401, Troy, NY will be joining in Troy' s Celebration of The UN International Day of Peace. Please stop by for the following free events:

12 noon -12:30pm; Informational session on how Reiki can promote peace in you and your everyday life, presenter Joyce Willson RN, Reiki Master Teacher.

12:30- 1:00pm; Guided Peace Meditation led by Lynn Gelman, Certified Meditation Instructor through the Chopra Center for Well Being and Reiki Master Teacher.

1:15- 1:45pm; Centering Prayer, the Prayer of Silence, led by Farley Jones, Founder of The Peaceful Center and Organizer of Troy's Peace Day.

2:00- 4:00 pm; Experience a complimentary 15 minute Reiki session provided by Joyce Willson RN, RMT and Lynn Gelman RMT.
